In this workshop, you will learn some quick and easy ways to create image galleries on the fly using the popular NextGEN Gallery plugin. We will also compare the default WordPress gallery, Jetpack Tiled Galleries, and Envira Gallery plugin.
In this workshop, we’ll explore all the NextGen Gallery features in depth, so you can make the most of this plugin as well as other plugins that work with it.
This workshop will cover:
- Choosing an image gallery plugin – what’s right for you?
- Sizing images for web
- Uploading images to NextGEN galleries
- Using the NextGEN Ajax-based thumbnail generator
- Enabling Javascript effects, such as Lightbox or Highslide
- Displaying images on a page or post in thumbnail grid, film strip, or slideshow
- Modifying the thumbnail image (to avoid bad crops)
- Bulk editing image sizes
This workshop is appropriate for people who like to blog using a lot of images or simply have a lot of art or photography they want to showcase. Any site that uses photography needs to use a gallery plugin to effectively manage and creatively display images.
