    • The CSS Anthology: 101 Essential Tips, Tricks & Hacks, 3rd Edition While there are many wonderful online CSS resources, this book was an exceedingly helpful resource when I was getting started to give me quick access to common CSS tips and tricks.
    • WordPress All in One for Dummies 8 books in 1. This 800+ page brick of a book covers all the basic of WordPress as well as SEO, how to create your own plugins, how to set up multi-site, and more!
    • WordPress for Dummies A must read for newbies. The section on theme development is very helpful.
    • WordPress Plugin Development Everything you need to know to develop your own WordPress plugins.
    • WordPress Theme Design Very helpful for theme developers but a bit more complicated than it needs to be. I prefer to “tweak” an existing simple theme than go through the developing every bit of a theme from scratch as suggested in this book. However, the examples he provides an

    • Theme Test Drive Consider using the Theme Test Drive plugin to be able to develop a theme only visible to the site admin
    • Weaver Theme A great WordPress theme for beginners. Contains everything you need to modify in the theme in the theme options, so no need to get into the code and template files.
    • WordPress Themes Thousands of free themes available for free via the WordPress repository.

    • How to Create a Blog? For freelance writers, small-businesses, new bloggers and creative people who want to expand their online presence.
    • Lynda.com Lynda has great tutorials on CSS, HTML, and WordPress. Well worth the $25/month subscription to continue your education.

    • PHP Tutorial for WordPress Users I love this free tutorial because it helps coders who are not PHP programmers (and programmers new to WordPress) understand the various PHP code snippets used in a typical theme.
    • WordPress Beginner Video Series I recommend this series to all people new to WordPress. Very concise.
    • WordPress TV Free online video tutorials. Be careful because many of these are geared toward wordpress.com rather than toward self-hosted WordPress sites.
    • WPCandy If you want to stay current on all things WordPress, WPCandy is the blog to follow. They even have a nifty iPhone app to keep you up to date and detailed tutorials.
